She completed her Master’s degree at the University of Maryland, then certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and practiced for the next four years in a Family Practice Setting in Frederick, MD. The goal of the NIAID PID clinic is to provide an expert referral center for clinicians worldwide and at NIH, who have complex patients with known or suspected primary immune deficiency diseases, with a focus on diagnosis and recommendations for management and improvement of care. She is an AI on NIAID protocols that evaluate patients suspected of or with known genetic immune deficiencies, such as PIK3CD, CTLA4, LRBA, RAG1, MAGT1, XLA, and general CVID among others. She has been with NIAID as the sole NP in the Primary Immune Deficiency (PID) clinic since January 2011. She worked in Family Practice for four years at the UF College of Medicine outpatient clinic prior to moving to the DC area. During her tenure at UUMC, she created a post-transplant management protocol which served as a teaching tool and guide for Transplant coordinators and GI/Hepatology Fellows.Īfter relocating to Maryland, she joined the Division of Hospital Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and spent several years managing patients with diverse pulmonary conditions requiring acute and chronic ventilatory support.
While at Mount Sinai, she completed a one-year Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology and was recruited to the University of Utah Medical Center (UUMC) to assist with building their Adult Liver Transplant Program.
